Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning — Department Profile

The Department of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning trains engineers to design, build and deploy intelligent systems across computer vision, natural language processing, generative AI, predictive modelling and autonomous decision-making. The department covers both the AI side — reasoning, perception and autonomous systems — and the machine-learning side, from classical models through deep learning and MLOps.

Aligned with the HITS principle of bringing industry into the campus, the department anchors the institute’s first college-based Humanoid Robotics R&D Centre and integrates AI-based teaching methodologies — adaptive tools, personalised instruction paths and real-time learning insights — directly into the classroom. Students work on live projects spanning generative AI, prompt engineering and autonomous systems, guided by industry standards.

The department offers B.Tech CSE (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) and a Diploma in AI & Machine Learning, and supports the B.Tech minor in AI & Machine Learning available to students across other branches.
