IQAC

NAAC Accredited Grade A

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is the institute’s standing body for maintaining and improving academic quality — a requirement for every NAAC-accredited institution, and the mechanism through which accreditation is sustained rather than treated as a one-off exercise.

A review and planning session at HITS

Academic review and planning sessions form part of the institute’s quality processes.

NAAC requires an accredited institution to establish an IQAC as a post-accreditation quality-sustenance measure

In practice the cell develops and applies quality benchmarks across teaching, learning and evaluation; collects and analyses feedback from students, parents, employers and alumni; supports the adoption of improved teaching methods and learning outcomes; documents the institute’s programmes and activities; and prepares the Annual Quality Assurance Report submitted to NAAC.

At HITS the cell’s remit connects directly to the institute’s autonomy

Because a UGC Autonomous college sets its own curriculum and examinations, the internal quality processes that check those decisions carry real weight — and the IQAC works alongside the industry-led Board of Studies advisory panel, whose members bring an external, employer-side view of whether what is taught matches what the profession needs.
