The facility lets students work hands-on with humanoid robotics platforms and the AI systems that control them — perception, motion planning and autonomous decision-making — rather than studying them only in theory.
Research at HITS is not confined to a single laboratory. In AY 2025–26, HITS faculty recorded 290 notable achievements across research publications, major research projects, institutional grants, seminars and Faculty Development Programmes. Faculty lead advanced training initiatives and external research that feed directly back into coursework and student projects.
The R&D centre sits alongside the institute’s other applied facilities: a DGCA-approved Remote Pilot Training Organisation, a drone assembling and service centre, an automated manufacturing environment, a student-built autonomous electric buggy, and an active startup incubator. Together these form a working industrial ecosystem on campus, where learning happens on real equipment and to real industry standards.
